Independence Day Concert:
The annually Ukrainian Independence Day concert will take place on August 24th in Majdan Nezalezhnosti, Kiev. Former Eurovision winner Ruslana is leading the line-up of the concert, but other Eurovision stars are expected to perform within the frames of this special celebration.
Ukraine is one of the youngest European countries as it became independent from the former U.S.S.R in 1991. Since then, the Ukrainians started a European integration and thanks to Ruslana's Eurovision victory, they managed to show themselves to the Europeans. In order to celebrate the importance of the Independence Day, a concert is being annually organized in the city center of Kyiv.
It was revealed that Ruslana will perform in Kyiv's Majdan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) within the frames of the Independence Day celebrations. The Ukrainian Eurovision winner will entertain the audience with her brand new song Wow as well as various other songs taken from the Wild Dances and Wild Energy projects.
Ruslana is one the most popular Eurovision winners in the recent history of the contest. Her winning song Wild Dances was a major hit in Europe, topping the music charts of Belgium (for 10 consecutive weeks), Greece, Turkey and Ukraine. She is also the winner of Asia Song Festival 2009 which took place in Seoul, South Korea.
